E Locator – represents the end of the track; also called ‘end locator’

Echo
– the repetition of a sound, delayed in time by at least 50 milliseconds after the original; an effect often found in synthesizers and samplers

Edit Automation
– to adjust the parameters of a device along the timeline

Edit Mode
– gives a more precise way to edit your performances. Arrange mode is typically used for building arrangements out of groups, using them like building blocks. Edit mode is primarily used when you want to edit the information within those blocks. In edit mode you’re able to alter the parameters of a selected area.

Edit Window
– the on-screen window that lets you edit the parameters of a device

– Steinberg’s surround-enabled string synth

End Locator
 – selects the end of a selection to loop, edit, move, etc.; also called ‘e locator’

Envelope
 – used in sound synthesis to control the volume, pan, pitch or other attribute of sound over a period of time. (ASDR envelopes are the most commonly used type of envelope. They’re divided into several segments: Attack, Sustain, Decay, and Release.)

Envelope Controlled Filter
– a filter whose parameters can be automated

Envelope Editor
– lets you edit and automate parameters within your track or clip

EQ
– short for ‘equalization’, the process of changing the frequency envelope of a sound; most commonly divided into Bass, Mid and Treble

EQ Three
– a three-band equaliser, giving control over low, mid and high ranges (or Bass, Mid, and Treble)

Eraser Tool
– deletes mid notes, envelope points, blocks of audio, etc.

Event
– an audio file that has been recorded or imported into Cubase

Export Song as Audio File
– renders the master output of the track into a single audio file
