Welcome to the new Sonic Academy Live Recording section

With computer technology at the heart of creating, recording and performing every kind of music, we wanted to share our experience and know-how to help people like you express yourself using the latest software and hardware. 

In the coming weeks and months we'll be launching a whole series of video tutorials aimed at singers, songwriters, guitar players and anyone into live music.

Get in to Music Production

A series of video tutorials aimed at complete beginners. This is a starter guide to all the gear you'll need to start recording your own music or band.

We will be starting from scratch, looking at computers and soundcards as well as microphones and software. If you are completely new to live recording these video tutorials will give you all the info you need to make the right choices about what hardware and software to use!

Recording Music Tutorials

in the coming weeks and month we'll also be launching a series of tutorials specific to recording live sound using Ableton Intro, Steinberg Sequel, Garage Band, Logic Express and more!

Recording for Singer/Songwriters and Guitar Players

An easy to follow guide on how to record guitar and vocals in a range of different software. These will be beginners' courses designed to get you quickly and easily recording a guitar part and vocals using a few different techniques. We will be using entry level software and hardware to make it the most cost effective way for you to record your ideas.
