This week, P-LASK takes a look at Chiastic Slide, a free Max for Live device he’s recently discovered and has been putting to use in his own productions.
Inspired by the vector joystick-style mixing found on synths like the Sequential Prophet VS and Korg Wavestation, Chiastic Slide lets you morph and fade between tracks in a group, or chains within a rack.
Add some modulation from an LFO or envelope and things get even more interesting, opening up plenty of possibilities for evolving textures, rhythmic movement and unexpected transitions.
Check it out and see what you can do with it!
