Course description

This week, we're bringing you another epic course as part of our Melodic House and Techno Takeover event, we're super proud to welcome new tutor Euan Allison aka MAGNUS for a vocal masterclass in this genre.

With a remarkable track record of over 100 million streams across all platforms, Euan is also a prolific co-producer/writer for some of the most prominent figures in the music industry. In this course, he shares an honest and bare-bones look at how he goes about writing and producing his tracks.

Starting with a blank slate, we simply lay down a held note in the key we want the track to be and then work up from there. After building a simple inspirational progression, we focus solely on the melody before moving into the instrumental production.
Throughout this process everything is fluid and always subject to change, and only once we're happy with the lead vocal melody can the instrumental and lyrics be considered. We finalise the demo by recording multiple takes and comping the lead vocal and backing vocals which include harmonies and textures.

This is a true masterclass in vocal production, packed with tips and tricks and everything you need to know. Whether you are a vocalist yourself, work with others, or simply use vocals in your own tracks this is a must-watch!
