This week, we welcome back Protoculture for a brand-new 'How To Make' course, as he takes inspiration from Bryan Kearney's classic 'Ready to Fly' to create a high-octane, old-school trance anthem.
Using the original as a reference throughout, we kick things off by breaking down the key elements that define its unmistakable sound. From there, we dive into building the groove and designing a powerful, layered lead, driving Reese bass and lush pads, all using ANA 2 to capture the spirit of the original.
With the core elements in place, we move on to crafting the arrangement, making tweaks and refinements along the way. We explore everything from transition effects and vocal placement to essential mixing techniques, bringing each element together into a cohesive, hard-hitting production.
Finally, we bounce our MIDI to audio and take the track through the mastering process, getting it polished and ready for the dancefloor.
The result? A full-throttle, old-school trance production packed with professional tips, creative techniques and insider tricks that fans of Bryan Kearney's signature sound will love.
