Course description
In this course, P-LASK breaks down the lesser-known slice playback modes and trigger settings inside Ableton Live’s Simpler.
While chopping samples by transients or beat divisions is a standard workflow, changing how slices respond to MIDI length and playback continuation can dramatically alter the rhythmic feel of breakbeats, vocal chops, and loops
Here, we explore the functional differences between Mono, Poly, and Through playback modes, alongside Trigger and Gate behaviors. P-LASK demonstrates how to combine these modes to construct complex Jungle and Drum & Bass breakbeat chops, create rhythmic space using gated note lengths, and automate trigger modes within an arrangement to maximize variation from a single sample.
