We have a brand new takeover month here on Sonic Academy, and this time we are taking on the gritty, hard-hitting, bass-heavy, wub-filled world of Drum and Bass!
We deep dive into all things DnB related, from creating the characteristic beats, designing epic bass lines, making a DnB classic from start to finish, and understanding the all the essential elements of DnB music you need to know!
We'll also be chatting with some big names in the genre, such as Freaks and Geeks, and Shapes, to get an insight into the world of DnB and any tips and tricks they have for up-and-coming producers.
The Masterclass
Who else could we ask but Bass Music Maestro himself, Haterade, to gather all the signature sounds from a carefully curated playlist to show you the common elements that make up Drum and Bass in 2024. He will cover everything from creating your first beats, writing and recording gritty bass builds and drops, to mixing and mastering this DnB monster. This is the perfect easy-to-understand guide for those wanting to get into the world of Drum and Bass, or even for the seasoned producer to get a greater understanding of the genre.
