Mac Vaughn
Mac Vaughn, AKA Bruce Mac Vaughn, is an audio engineer from the San Francisco Bay Area with over 20 years of music industry experience. He has performed as a touring DJ, live electronic act, and bass guitarist. His Techno productions have received major industry support including plays on BBC Radio 1 and top positions in Beatport’s charts. Mac is also the Founder and Co-Owner of the record label Fierce Animal Recordings which houses artists such as Cosmic Boys, Drumcomplex, Ben Champelll, Carlo Ruetz, Cosmic Boys, Maksim Dark, Alex Stein, Kaiser Souzai, Ryan Michael Robbins, Gabriel Moraes Jason Johnson, and Phoenix Movement. Mac has created production music for clients including Nike, the University of Phoenix, Asus, West One Music, Dynamic Music, and Propellerheads.
As a mentor, Mac has also been a featured speaker, influencer, and teacher for some of the top audio schools across the globe. He has given talks and recorded tutorials on production, mixing, mastering, branding, and social media for Pyramind, Ableton, SAE, Sonic Academy, and Abletunes. Most recently Mac is sponsoring a local producer community-driven event called Headroom, where artists and producers can hear their tracks on a professional club sound system (Halcyon SF) in San Francisco.
Mac also runs and owns the audio firm, Dark Star Audio, which focuses on mixing, mastering, production, and artist development. His firm has worked with some of the biggest audio labels and brands in the music industry including EMI, Sony, Downtown Records, Ultra, Spinnin Records, Toolroom, Intec, Sample Magic, and many many others. On the other hand, Dark Star Audio has helped many new producers start their careers by providing audio services and industry navigation consulting.
