Course description
This week, we welcome back Taylor Franklyn for a new course on How To Write for Video Games.
If you're looking to get into this area of the music industry, Taylor is exactly who you're looking for to share his pro tips and tricks, as his accolades include games such as Fortnite, Rocket League and a ton of indie titles.
In this course, we focus on how to carry out the brief requested, making sure the track is endlessly loopable but also interesting enough to overcome ear fatigue for the listener while capturing the essence of the theme.
Using Ableton Live stock plugins ANA 2, Kick 3, and JU60, Taylor creates a tense, futuristic track for a game's lobby or menu section. Starting with a background layered ambience, he builds with aggressive 808s, percussion, Arps, synth fills, and effects before arranging, mixing and mastering.
