Details
We are kicking off a brand new takeover month here at Sonic Academy, and this time we’re diving headfirst into the groovy rhythms and funky stabs of Tech House!
We’re covering everything Tech House—from crafting those bouncy basslines and chopping up hooky vocals, to building a full-on Tech House banger from the ground up.
The Masterclass
We’ve teamed up with one of the hottest Tech House producers around right now! Scott Lowe—yep, the guy with a bunch of A-list collabs and some of the biggest Tech House hits in the past two years—is here to share his secrets.
Scott’s showing you all the essentials: laying down your first drum grooves, writing basslines that slap, and mixing/mastering your tracks like a pro. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re a seasoned producer looking to level up, this is your go-to guide for nailing that Tech House sound in 2025.
The Remix Competition
Ready to show off your skills? Enter our remix comp for a shot at £500 and a release on Sonic Academy Records!
Download the stems, flex what you’ve learned, and upload your remix of the featured track. Our top pick bags £500 and gets their track released on Sonic Academy Records—plus there are some other epic prizes up for grabs!
Exclusive Content
We’re loading you up with fresh tools to smash your next Tech House tune (or whatever genre you’re vibing with).
Check out the brand new ANA 2 Tech House Preset Pack, packed with sounds straight from the masterclass and plenty more. Plus, we’re dropping an insane sample pack full of punchy percussion, music loop kits, and all the essential one-shots you need to make a banger.
Oh, and don’t miss the epic Kick 3 Preset Pack—loaded with reverse-engineered kicks dialed in for that modern Tech House sound. You’re welcome.

Vocal Processing + Beating Making
In this video we welcome back Vangelis Kostoxenakis aka Ekoboy as he checks out some processing techniques when it comes to vocals and beats.
First up, he lays down some vocals before transforming them with AI and processing so they become clearer and sit well in the mix. Once doubled up and using the original recording as another layer, they take on a whole new vibe perfect for Tech House. We then check out how to improve our drums, firstly by replacing the kick with a punchy Kick 3 preset followed by some saturation and compression on the percussive elements to get the classic crunchy distorted effect.
